Gucci!

So...I absolutely love Men's clothing. I even went as far as trying to wear men's clothes my freshman year in college...but it caused way too much confusion :( so...I slowly strayed away from that trend...lol
But it doesnt stop me from checking out the men's dept. when I'm shopping...or simply looking at mens clothing when I'm internet browsing...

Here's my favorite look from the Gucci Men's Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion show...
So...this guy wouldn't get too far if he tried to get my number, BUT he could definitely go shopping with me and help me pick out shoes...preferably shoes like this...
from the Gucci Spring/Summer 2010 Collection...
That is all...

W.O.W.

Words of wisdom...

"I believe in putting yourself in a position and setting yourself up. You can't talk to the baddest beauty in the club if you don't stand near her first."

Courtesy of:
Bow!
I think I'd like him if I met him...
Plus this statement spoke to me and the current direction of my life...or at least where I'm trying to shift my life....
Btw...W.O.W. is also initials for this dope website whatsonewearing.com...it was closed for a while but now its back up...check it out...

Futuristic Swag...

"Polo t-shirt, Polo drawwwwwwwwws...now come and take this Polo off!"
-Knowlegde droppage courtesy of the The infamous DeWayne Carter...

I never quite understood the fascination with Polo...besides the fact that it looks REALLY good when its worn correctly...but so does any brand of clothes anyway...its not about the brand...its ALL about the fit...

But I'm no fashion expert.

At any rate...

My young Atliens...who frequent the Polo outlet...sag their skinny colored levis with an oversized polo shirt, matching polo hat (hanging leather adjusting strap) and those infamous khaki jackets can now buy Ralph Lauren with a more purposeful motive than being...uh...futuristic.

Ralph Lauren (more particular his RRL line) has joined in forces with a California retailer, BLENDS, to create a jean manufactued in the US!

Good news youngbloods...you can be futuristic in your Ralph Lauren while pumping your hard earned dollars from your part time fastfood job back into the struggling US economy!

The line releases tomorrow...in Cali...so um...get on it!

Dope Blog...I think

I'm not questioning the dope part...Dope...it is.
But I'm not quite sure its a blog...Hmm?
Its really artistic...really abstract...but it's definitely something worth looking at...

Check it out...http://sidashford.com/

I think thats him on the left...he looks cool...
(he chose the salute pose...thats new. Slightly more refreshing than the cliche' index finger pointing indirectly at the camera pose...c'mon son...u know you've seen it)

meso-corny.blogspot.com isn't bad either...you should check that out too...lol

Big Leagues....

Soooo...Atlanta's dopest mc's are on the come up! Wellll...he's not exactly from Atlanta, more like Alabama...but the fact still remains...
Yelawolf was featured in the Washington Post...it was short and sweet, but we're not talking about some small time church newsletter-esque Dekalb county publication (shoutout to CrossRoads!!) its the effin' Washington Post!
Round of applause is in order...

go check it out!

Neck Tattoos...

So I don't have the balls to get one...but I've always wanted a neck tattoo...like the side of my neck not the back...

I think they're erotic...
The whole concept of the neck is erotic.
Its the only thing that separates the mind from the body...or rather joins them.
Poetic, right?

Thats uh...Wiz Khalifa and Lola Luv on the left of the pic with that neck tat...

see...dope...

Techno Pt. 2: Calvin Harris

I've come to realize that techno music takes music producing to an entirely different realm of amazingness...
Plus most of the guys who produce techno music are dj's too...then...they get on stage and perform these intricate beats with instruments like keyboards, synthesizers and some other high tech shit that I probably can't pronouce. (And if we're being specific to my boy Calvin, they sing too!)
His most recent album "Ready for the Weekend" got me through the second half of first semester...

This video proves his coolness...

this video shows how dope his videos are...

another good video...plus i think Mayer stole this concept lowkey...love you anyway John!

This video shows the live performance...my fav song off of the album btw...

Producers and artists...step your game up...
check out David Guetta too...he's dope...awesome song with Kid Cudi "Memories"

Techno Pt. 1: The gifts of Techno

1. Techno music makes you do things faster and more efficiently (i.e. homework, cleaning etc.)
Techno music...reason # 3,489 why the UK is cooler than th US... especially since they live for that shit!
I'm moving tomorrow.
BUT...Its hard to get some black ppl into it...
Hope this helps...dope ass video!

Hopefully i didnt offend anybody by the whole "black' thing...especially since I'M BLACK!
If so...Shut it, Jive Turkey!

and...this should help you ease into Techno too...i like the video concept...reason # 3,490 why UK is cooler than the US...WAAAAAAY better video concepts!

I woke up with this...

I've had good guys be asses towards me,
And asses be perfect gentlemen to me.

That shows me that...
Anybody is capable of anything.

That taught me to...
Never under or over estimate.

When things go ary, there's no point in pointing the finger.
The way we are treated is a direct representation of how we allow people to treat us.
That means I'm in control of my destiny.
I'm the determining factor in my tomorrow.
At the end of the day, this is what keeps me going.

Hallelujah!

Ever been to a Baptist Church?
Now I'm not judging anyone...thats not my job.
BUT...theres always those people who's shouting doesn't look genuine...
U know...They catch the holy ghost like every service...and it just seems forced...
OK. Keep that in mind.

One of my friends asked me why I don't like any current r&b artists...like the popular ones with mega hits, huge followings and sold out concerts ...(I wont name any names)
But its because their performances just seemed forced to me. Like...they're not REALLY feeling their music...so I can't...
And even when they run around the stage, jump up and down, and sing from the bottom of their um...diaphrams, I STILL feel nothing...
because I think they're faking...its like they're doing what they THINK their audience THINKS they should be doing. Its not natural. Fake shouting.

and I KNOW what natural looks like...when someone FEELS what they're singing.
so um...take note.

ok...I know, i know...ignore that. This man is a musical genius. Look him up...listen to some more of his music. You can't tell me he's not feelin' this shit...i feel it...Rahsaan Patterson.

gotta love a decatur boy...

Though often in his music he'll mention East Atlanta, I knew he was legit when prefacing my favorite song of his, "Spaced Out", he exclaimed "Lemme clear my thoat"...(intentional exclusion of the "r")...

His name is A.leon Craft (pronounced like "alien") and I'm convinced he's a long lost member of the Dungeon Family...
dope music...dope-er beard...(cuz he's got that dark-skinned boy pretty hair)

He's been doin this music thing for a while...he's a member of "Da Backwudz"..
remember them?

They did that "You're gonna Love Me" joint.
People who've been in Atlanta for more than 4 years stand up! (Crickets chirping...)
Well...I've been here all my life, and I remember the song!

ANYWAYZ!!

His most recent work is on the heavily anticpated SMKA compilation thingie. They've been purposely leaking some of the songs off of The 808 Experiment and his song "Botanicals" is dope...

a mixture between Travis Porter and Outkast circa 99 with a cold ass SMKA beat...

are you gonna download it? You should.

And you should go to the Listening party on the 22nd...I wanna go...but i gotta feeling its gonna be an intimate setting and Ion kno nobody :( lol...I might crash it though, and act like I'm somebody ;)

Click on the picture to go to the link for the free download.

Yum...

On first glance I thought these guys were gonna bust out with some Jaspects-like jazzy funky soul type shit...pleasantly surprised they sounded more like Paramore...

A black male version of Paramore.?..Have my prayers been answered?

Maybe.

The lead singer, Enye is pretty dope. I'm talking ...seriously...he can actually sing!...(plus he's tall and dark with locs and skinny jeans...sooo...he can pretty much get it...BUT...somethin' tells me he's not into black girls... #fail)

They're juuuuust commercial enough to have mass appeal...but its obvious that their not trying to be a token "black rock group"...u know...its obvious that they're not trying to appeal to any audience...they didn't 'blacken" their music to appeal to hip-hop heads or "whiten" it to appeal to heavy metal emo listeners.

They're just making music...and if you you're a true music lover you should be able to appreciate The 54, if not for their music, for that fact alone.

Plus they're the only TRUE rock band that can say "nigga" without me startin a riot!

Check em out...The 54

Im planning on going to see them on February 11th at The Drunken Unicorn 9pm...u should come2...

Buahahahaha!

this is sooo real...Campus PD...a show that airs on G4...hilarious.

You can't come in...

Don't Run Up On me!!!

I'm gonna ask you one more time...

Wow...

My favorite type of movies...Action.

Dope ass commercial.

Does anybody die?

This is an art...

The commentators make the show.

Really, Jim?

So...since the beginning of rap videos...WELL, since the beginning of the ones that artists could afford to feature more than their 70+ homeboys and a few live shots of the projects that they grew up in, they've consisted of half-naked girating women AND stolen plots from popular movies. For the sake of repetition, I'll focus on the horribly reinacted stolen movie plots...

Often you'll see a reinactment of movies like "Scarface" and "The Usual Suspects" but last night I saw the WORSE reinactment of "Gone in 60 Seconds" by Jim Jones and some dude named Swag.

First of all, they only stole two cars (wtf..they stole 60 in the movie!)
Second of all, when they "stole" the two cars they were chillin' talkin to each other and shit! Who chills when they're stealing a car?(maybe it was because they only stole TWO cars!)
Third, the song was whack and has absolutely NOTHING to do with stealing cars...
Fourth, the video wasn't cohesive enough for you to even recognize that they were trying to imitate "gone in 60 seconds"!

perfect example of a rapper's random and poorly executed usage of a classic movie...

The crazy thing is that rappers did a WAY better job of being creative in their videos in the 90s and early 00s. Now when rappers are making the most money and have the largest fan base that they've ever had, they cheat us (their audience and their fans) by giving us ratch-ed ass videos.

Seriously...Lil Wayne...great artist...BUT...when's the last time he put out a good video?(and that horrible reinactment of Inside Man does NOT count)

I remember when videos were creative. Perfect example... "Can't stand the Rain" by Missy Elliott...Classic video...
Very Creative.

And while perusing channels this morning I came across the video below.
ok...Be mindful that its not the most realistic (especially since a hispanic Jennifer Lopez is supposed to be an Egyptian princess) BUT! the video is good, and well executed in my opinion (plus the diddy bop in the palace helps adds to the ambiance...lol)
its REALLY freakin engaging, dude...so um...take note Jim Jones...and get yo braids redone sheesh!

Puff Daddy - Been Around The World

...and its nothing personal against my boy Jim Jones...i even like his most recent collaboration with Mos Def and Black Keys"Hoochie Choo"...and the video's dope too...

3...

i'm often overwhelmed with feelings
i think even when i don't know what to think
i feel the most when you're not here
thats how i know im selfish
and this is real
______________________________

i wish i was smarter.

2...

i know i've made it more than it was
time does that to you
elaborate reality
just a figment of my imagination
maybe i made it all up
it would make more sense if we never happened at all
if we were only in my head
good news.
im getting numb
sometimes feeling too much makes you numb

1...

foreign. accustomed. foreign.
a moment's difference
a decision made
a future lost
id rather dream all day
i could wonder forever
but ive thought anything u could say
and it wouldnt change much
so i'll keep my questions
i'll forget my questions
i'll forget you
won't you help me forget you.

I'm NOT tryna chill!!!

so my sister and I are sitting on the couch watching this "Tough Love" show on vH1 that is supposed to help these "clueless" women find the ultimate prize that any woman can recieve in her entire LIFE!!!! A MAN!!! (overwhelming round of applause)

women devoting their whole lives to trying to be what a man wants!

excuse me while I exit the room and puke!!!

BUT thats besides the point...the women on the show are set up to go out on dates with men compatible with their personalities. The challenge on the last date was for the women to pay the bill. Not so much of a challenge, eh?

Maybe so.

Most of the women had bills over 100 bucks! Crazy, right? BUT. I've gotta admit...I HAVE paid the bill a few times when I've gone out on dates, and when the waiter brings over that rectangular leatherfold the grief of sliding your credit card in that little plastic thingy is NOT specific to gender! It is just as burdensome for a woman as it is for a man.

Especially when you're in college. Though being on a college budget can be a deterance from dating it DEFINITELY shouldn't be!

The art of dating isn't in working 7 jobs so that you can impress your date by taking him or her to the nicest most expensive resaurant in the city...its about being clever enough to take your date to one of the kagillion inexpensive places to eat in Atlanta...DUH!

so finally...to my point...below are a few cool inexpensive places that I've been that a guy or a girl could take their date and not have to pay a $100 tab...or anything close to it.

(you can click on the pictures and they'll take you to the website for the resaurant. I'm proud of myself...I've deemed myself a computer genius...lol)

Tin Drum AsiaCafe

Ru San's

Loca Lunas

Fellini's Pizza

Tilt Coffee Shop

So next time when you wanna be booed up, go OUT! Don't ask to chill!! The End...
